Grandma’s Garden

Piece No. 2

Inspired by the ancient traditions of the Kurdistan, Qashqai, and Zagros regions—where cloves played a significant role in women’s daily lives—this collection is designed to honor and revive these cultural practices in a contemporary form. Cloves, known for their distinctive fragrance, release a pleasant aroma when slightly moistened, symbolizing beauty and pleasantness among the women of these areas.

The aim of this project is to keep these age-old traditions alive through modern jewelry design. “Grandmother’s Garden” evokes a time when men crafted clove ornaments for their wives, and elderly women pinned them to their vests, combining aesthetic appeal with a soothing, ever-present fragrance.

Reflecting the rich culture of the Zagros women, “Grandmother’s Garden” integrates contemporary materials and forms to offer not only visual beauty but also a sense of nostalgia and intimacy, enhanced by the calming scent of cloves.
